Unit 6 Feedback_Complementary Medicine

Hi Magan, Thank you and your group for the information presented on the website page, Complementary Medicine regardingAdolescence. The website page design is consistent with your prior themes.  I love how the design flows, with a simplistic, clean, and inviting flow for the reader. Starting with a strong graphic specific to the topic proved informative and appropriate for the introduction as well as per section. Discussion of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is thorough and offers information that will be helpful to medical professionals as well as the respective population. I have never heard of Chasteberry and found this information both fascinating and promising.  Understanding the benefits it has for PMS management, as well as becoming aware of the additional antioxidative and anti-inflammatory benefits of Chasteberry.  Both supporting infographics and video media used in this section is relevant to the topic and concise to support the  evidence-based description...

Blog Review by Pamela Ukah on Web Activity #4: Conventional Medicine by Brittany Lawrence, Magan Gramling & Sterling Patton(2024)

Hello Magan, You and your team did a fantastic job on your webpage assignment for unit 4. The assignment detailed the use of conventional medicine in adolescent females with depression and anxiety. The webpage was clearly organized and easy to follow, with headings supporting each piece of information. In addition, the videos and charts were relevant to the topic and each section discussed. I also liked the comparison between females and males in this group and how you seamlessly tied the topic to the mental well-being and wellness of females in the age group you discussed. Overall, it was a good presentation. My only recommendation is more legibility of the wording on the charts.

Feedback Unit 4: (Web Activity 3_Interplay of Food & Body)

Hi Megan! Thank you and your group for the information presented on the website page regarding the interplay of food & body for the female adult. I can tell that you all placed a large effort toward the beautiful aesthetics of this website page.  Each section is vibrant and inviting for the reader.  The discussion of the relationship of food to the female body is thorough and reflective of important changes during adulthood.  Outlining the effect of food on perimenopause for the sake of well-being captures one of the most popular topics for women in this age range regarding health management.  It was good to see you capture the complex social dynamics and need for self-awareness/acceptance still present in adulthood. This information was well rounded with the video outlining nutrition for hormonal support.   I feel the media choices and placement in this section are relevant and relatable to the topic.  Headings and subheadings are visible and well...

Blog Review for Unit 2 Website Activity on Childhood - Psychosocial Female Mind (Group 2).

Blog review for Unit 2 Website Activity on Childhood – Psychosocial Female Mind (Group 2). Hello Magan, I am writing this review for your group's work for the unit 2 website activity on Childhood – Psychosocial female mind. I commend you and your group for an excellent job highlighting the p sychological, social, and emotional factors and implications of the interplay between mental, social, and emotional factors on women's health in the childhood stage of life. These factors were explained in depth with supporting facts through pictures and a video about emotions and coping strategies in children. As a parent of 3 children in this life stage, I learned more about emotional regulation and coping skills via the video posted. This website activity was well organized and had headings that introduced each topic, covering these factors impacting women in this childhood stage. My only suggestion would be to make the words on some of the posters/pictures more visible. Thank...

Introduction

Hello all! My name is Magan Higgins Gramling and I have been an Occupational Therapist since 2012, when I graduated with a Master's from UAB in Birmingham, AL. I have stayed in Birmingham as my husband's job is also here and have worked in every setting an OT can from outpatient, to SNF, to home health, and schools. During my first year as an OT, I obtained a certification in lymphedema, and since then have obtained other certifications in trauma, reflexology and functional nutrition.  I worked for eight years in these various positions before becoming disillusioned with the insurance driven healthcare world and in 2020, one month before the pandemic hit, I opened my own business: Integrative OT. I worked at a yoga studio with a holistic PT who focused on women's health and wellness. Since then I have found my niche in mobile lymphatic work and nature based services to children with and without special needs. I contract with a local preschool as well and have a podcast to ...
